Ukrainian dance is different.
Just like the unwavering spirit of the Ukrainian people, it is something to be marveled at.
Windsor Barvinok Ukrainian Dance Ensemble aims to share Ukrainian culture in Canada and internationally by creating and performing dances from multiple regions of Ukraine. These dances are performed in region-accurate wardrobe hand-crafted in Lviv, Ukraine.
Registration
Interested in joining our group? Come by and sign up for out 2024-2025 season! We are happy to have you even if you missed Registration Day! We welcome ALL! No experience required, we can teach you! We are a full collection of dancers with all kinds of experience levels!
Dancers can start as early as 4 years of age. At 4:00pm to 5:00pm, Juniors start. Following Juniors, Intermediates will begin at 5:15pm to 6:15pm after a 15 minute break. Age 16 and up will be recommended to attend the Ensemble registration time at 6:30pm.
Practice at the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex is not our usual facility for practice. It is our backup plan when UNF Hall is occupied. It is equipped with a professional dance studio with mirrors, bars and dance floor.
Registration Cost
$250 + $50 Refundable Costume Deposit + $50 Refundable Bingo Deposit
The Costume Deposit is to be returned upon the end of the season once the dancer(s) has returned the costume(s) provided by the dance group
The bingo deposit will be returned after successful completion of 2 bingo shifts either by a parent or dancer over the age of 18 (they’re really easy).
Creating a community.
Windsor Barvinok has been around for decades, but now our role is somewhat different. With the war in Ukraine and so many Ukrainians finding sanctuary in Canada, we feel we hold some responsibility to create a safe and welcoming community. Something that can make our visitors and/or new Canadians feel some semblance of home.
